The Rich Mole and the Money

The Rich Mole and the Money

by Amy

A very rich mole who had lots of money decided one day that he would go to the fish market and buy some supper. When he got there he saw a large fish and a small fish. He bought the small fish because he didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money. "How much will this cost"? asked the mole.
"Five dollars, please," said the mouse who worked at the fish market.
After that Mole went to the candy store across the street and bought five pounds of candy. He didn't know that five pounds of candy cost twenty dollars.
"Twenty dollars, please," said the candy store owner.
"What!" cried Mole. "Are you crazy! Here is twenty dollars. Now leave me alone!"
Mole rushed to the bank. He saw a man with 100 dollars. Mole thought to himself: I'm going to take that money from that man so I can be rich again.
Mole tried to take the money from the man but the man thought to himself: Well, if that little mole is going to take my money I might aswell take his. So the man took Mole's money instead of Mole taking his. Now Mole is left with nothing and is poor.
Moral: Be satisfied with what you have.
